Alison Riggs was born and raised in the Woodstock neighborhood of Portland, Oregon. She married her high school sweetheart, Kyle, in 1993 and they welcomed two sons, Connor in 1997 and McKinley in 1999. She has 18 years experience working with elementary school students including, volunteer work, tutoring, Title 1 reading intervention and instruction, substituting and teaching 4th grade. Alison graduated from Western Governors University with a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies.

Alison enjoys traveling, crafts, photography, reading, baking and spending time in Rockaway Beach, Oregon. She lives in SE Portland with her husband, sons and two cats, Maximus and Memow.
