Justin LevyElementary Teacher

Justin Levy was born and raised in the Maryland suburbs around Washington, D.C. After graduating from the Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School in 2006, Justin began his undergraduate at Connecticut College. There, he studied Chinese, performed on the upright bass, and played on the rugby team. While earning his degree, Justin studied and worked in China for six months. Justin graduated with a degree in East Asian Studies in 2010.

Upon graduating from college, Justin accepted a position teaching English in the Chinese city of Chongqing. After one year, Justin returned to the US and worked as a freelance graphic designer and retail employee in Washington, D.C. In 2014 Justin accepted an opportunity to lead a farming program at B.B. Camp in Lincoln City, Oregon and fell in love with the Pacific Northwest. Since moving to Portland in 2015, Justin has worked in numerous roles as an educator from a substitute teacher to serving as Program Leader with MESD Outdoor School. This work experience motivated Justin to pursue his Master’s degree in Teaching which he earned from Lewis & Clark College in 2018. Since then, Justin has been teaching students of all ages in Portland and joined Tucker Maxon as a long-term substitute in the Upper Elementary classroom in March 2020 and facilitated distance-learning for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. Justin returns in Fall 2020.

Justin lives in Northeast Portland with his girlfriend, Adi and two dachshunds Ketchup and Honey Mustard.
