Solar Monitoring

During the 2017-2018 school year, PGE awarded Tucker Maxon a solar power grant. PGE’s Renewable Development Fund program, in partnership with Sunbridge Solar and Bonneville Environmental Foundation, resulted in 128 solar panels installed on Tucker Maxon’s gym roof. This 44.8 kW roof top solar photovoltaic system was completed in June 2018. It generates an estimated 48,000 kilowatt hours of clean, renewable energy each year. These solar power panels provide the equivalent to powering about four average US homes per year, and are expected to offset half of the school’s electricity. Tucker Maxon School is committed to sustainability, renewable energy, and conservation education for our students, staff, and community. The energy savings from this project will go back into enhancing the school’s programs for students.
