About the PDX Chalk Art Festival
The safety and health of festival artists and attendees is our primary concern. Therefore, we have decided to postpone the launch of the PDX Chalk Art Festival to Labor Day weekend, Sept. 4-6, 2021. All current artist applications will be kept on hold and will be reviewed for the 2021 festival. We look forward to seeing you next year!
The PDX Chalk Art Festival will be the first ever street painting event in the city of Portland! It will be an immersive artistic experience, transforming the North Park Blocks between NW Flanders and NW Glisan into a colorful, interactive ephemeral art installation.
The festival will occur alongside Portland’s premier art fair, Art in the Pearl Festival and will benefit the non-profit, Tucker Maxon School, a school that teaches spoken language to children who are deaf and hard of hearing.
Over three days, you will have the opportunity to watch artists creating large scale street murals ranging in size from 6’ x 6’, 8’ x 8’ and 10’ x 10’. Kids will also be able to join in on the fun in the family-friendly kids’ zone. There will be music and food carts as well.
The festival will be free and open to the public.
